Description
More correctly known as ‘Side Opening Aeroplane Sheds’, the first were built at Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey for Short Brothers. They were the standard Royal Flying Corps hangar type until 1916. There are three pairs still standing at Montrose in Scotland.
